River Chase

River Chase sits at the east end of Kingwood, just north of Kingwood Drive and east of Mills Branch. Mills Branch is worth knowing as a road in its own right, it runs up through the back side of Porter and picks up small hubs along the way, convenience stores, a pizza place, taco spots. Handy when you don't want to drive into the town center for everything.

Prices here currently run roughly from the $300s to the $700s, so it covers a fair range depending on the street and the house.

North side, south side

Depending on what part of River Chase you're in, you'll either track to Shadow Forest or Willow Creek. It's a north or south decision if you have a preference.

The practical divider is a drainage channel running through the middle, carrying water from Kingwood out to the East Fork of the San Jacinto. It isn't an official boundary, but it does split things up. The south side connects into the trail system that runs down to East End Park. The north side has its own separate trail network. Same neighborhood on paper, two different sets of connections day to day.

Schools

North side tracks to Shadow Forest, south side to Willow Creek. That's current and I'm confident in it, but attendance boundaries do change, so if a specific school matters to your decision it should be verified for the exact address rather than assumed from the neighborhood or from what a listing says.

The floodplain

Parts of River Chase sit in the floodplain. I want to be straightforward about that rather than leave it out.

What I can't tell you from here is which specific streets or which specific addresses, because that varies and it deserves an actual look rather than a generalization. What I'd tell any buyer looking here is the same thing I'd tell someone looking anywhere in this part of Kingwood: check the address, not the neighborhood.
